LACKSADAISICAL CUSTOMER SERVICE, AND UNFORTUNATELY NOT VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE, EITHER. When will I learn? Two years ago I was looking for a Honda and I went here, mainly because I LIVE IN TENAFLY !! When I arrived, they were disorganized and couldn't answer any of my questions with any competence. I ended up knowing more about the car just from reading the online information than they did (and that is not saying much). I drove 25 miles away and got the car from another Honda dealership. So this year - why did I even try again? Because - again, I LIVE IN TENAFLY So I thought it would be nice to support the local dealership. Mistake. Started out well with a test drive and easy conversation with the sales person. But when we sat down to talk numbers, they gave me a really hard sell in person ("global car shortage... we won't have more inventory for 6 months or more... buy now or you won't have a car..."), high price for the car - which wasn't even available as I wanted it but I was being told I had to accept what they had to offer due to the shortage, and then further insulted me with an outrageously low offer for my 2016 trade-in. It was several THOUSAND below Kelly, Edmunds, Carvana, and True Car. When I provided documentation to back this up, the manager came over and said he would "see what he could do to maybe MAYBE increase the offer by $500" It was insulting. The strangest part was that after I left that day, it was a full TWO WEEKS before I heard from them again??!!! What kind of business is that? I was shocked. It wouldn't have made a difference because by then, I had purchased my car from another Honda dealer who sold me the car for BELOW MSRP (even in this summer 2021 superconductor shortage), and gave me $3K more for my trade-in. To put icing on the cake, because I purchased my car in a state with mandated-controls on dealer and licensing fees, I saved over $1500 just in fees alone. A huge win all around. HONDA OF TENAFLY, you really need to up your game. You could have made a sale!

The process of getting a car was smooth and all you needed is a bit of patience. Have your papers ready and you’ll be good to go. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend place if you trying to get a car.

This was my first time purchasing a car at a dealership. The experience was very easy. I've always heard stories that buying a car is one of the most tedious and stressful things you can get but Lynn and everyone else at Honda Tenafly made it so easy. I'm in love with my car every time I wake up to go to work and turn the key I think how grateful I'm to have it.

According to my leasing contract I was supposed to paid
According to my leasing contract I was supposed to paid 14,008.65 to purchase my car after 3 years. Actually I ended up paying 17,579.45 $. I understand there are some additional fee, administrative fee and taxes, but I also found out that I actually had to pay the end of lease fee…, which was already included in my 2019 bill. I tried to explain that I already paid it, with no success. They just said: “Yes I know , but i cannot do anything “. Then I got a thank you email from Norman Dorf, the owner of Honda of Tenafly asking to contact him if I had any issue with my purchase. I wrote back explaining my dissatisfaction and asked him to explain. It has been 10 days and I got no answer. No answer neither from Claudia Vazquez. Very disappointing. I originally had a decent lease; they just overcharged me at the end to compensate.

I’m honestly glad I went with this dealership over competitors. Sure there are hiccups, but that’s everywhere you go right now. They are very straightforward, Tim in finance gave me the breakdown of the price, which is something other dealerships didn’t do for me. I’m always greeted by really friendly staff every time I visit (although sometimes they’re not as helpful as I’d like.) I am extremely happy with the support I got after purchase from my salesman Nick.

Mr Avila was very pleasant to work with my husband and I came in looking for a specific car/color but when we got there the particular car/color had been sold by the time we got there. We were gonna get our second choice color but it was a bit pricey Raul then worked out a deal with us and we were able to get the car/color we originally came for. Raul was very pleasant and patient with us not only did he value us as customers (me being a 1st time car owner) he was very professional and he made the experience great.

Horrendous
I had previously leased a brand new 2019 Honda Accord back in February. Now in July it has been nothing but issues. I have had the same problem for the entire month of my radio taking several minutes to turn on when the vehicle is turned on. I have ALREADY sent the car in TWO times for it to be fixed and after both times I was told the problem was resolved and that was not the case either time. I still have the problem nearly everyday of my radio not turning on. This is completely and utterly unacceptable. The service team who’s job is to fix issues like this and ensure me that any other problems I may have in the future will be taken care of has completely let me down. I will now have to send my car in for a THIRD time to attempt to fix this issue. I have been left without a car for a total of 4 days already because of this and not only that but I have had to use my own personal time to take 4 unpaid days off from work. Now I will have to be without my vehicle for more time and I will have to take more unpaid time off from work. This is my first time owning a Honda and dealing with Honda of Tenafly and this most certainly will be the last time I will ever do business with them. They have completely lost every bit of trust and loyalty I had put in the dealership. If I was able to return the car tomorrow and get out of this lease I would do it without a second thought.
